Blogger Sells Out to Mainstream Media

For those who don't know, my work here at BFS has landed me an occasional gig with the State Journal-Register. If you don't subscribe (you should), here's a little something I put together for last Sunday's paper. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you. You can comment on it here, or on the SJ-R's site. Be kind.

I'll be back soon with a fresh blog post.

Congratulations! We've noticed your work published in the paper, some very good writing. Keep it up!

You may have already experienced one, but if you haven't you are in for a painful time. Check out any question and answer or blog site devoted to sports, particularly the big three. The writing, spelling, and punctuation by the respondents is absolutely brutal.

As with anything else in this world, once we start en mass turning a blind eye to things such as poor grammar we are doomed to be mired in it forever. Little things do matter. Every capable person should take up arms against such maladies. We will all be better off for it.

Dan, don't think I don't run an extra-fine-toothed comb through your Sunday A.M. columns.

And Anon130a, chill the frig out, dude. You obviously know not of which you speak. There are a great many sports blogs (Cardinals-themed ones in particular) that are well-written and have proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Speaking of spelling, the phrase is en masse, you pompous douchebag.

Well, I guess you showed them. Congratulations.

I have no idea what I meant by that first part. Perhaps some obscure reference to being quoted unsourced. I don't know. The second part, though, I meant most sincerely.
